Any data on partial wheel skirts? I know my data will not reflect separate data just on these as my upcoming trip will be the first long distance trip with my revised aero cap, revised engine belly pan, extended rear diffuser, and now the partial wheel skirts.
I've nothing specific on partials, but the scary voice in my head says that a wind tunnel would show a benefit.
The air can't just tumble in immediately, and since it's longitudinal flow is maintained longer along a solid surface, when it does run out of skirt, and stumble into the void, the void is smaller, and so the perturbation should be smaller as well, with easier downstream recovery when it see's the surface rear of the tire.
