Usually with prices to match, which eliminates your profit right away.
Same goes for the Audi A2 3L - but the 1.4 TDi will do almost as good.

If you're on a budget, you might want to take a look at the Skoda Fabia (I) 1.4 TDi.
Bigger car, but it still does under 4L/100km with only moderate driving.
Hypermiling, you'll be looking at 3.5L/100km ... or better.

The newer 1.2L TDi is also good for FE - but will be more expensive.

I'm based in Switzerland near Lausanne, so if anyone in Switzerland or nearby (e.g. France) has particular advice/experience with the VW Lupo 3L (especially on repair/maintenance and garages), much appreciated
Make sure the auto transmission is absolutely OK when you get a Lupo 3L - they're notorious for tranny troubles.

As with any TDi : belts need to be done on time.
If in doubt wether it has or has not been done : have it done anew.
Full VW service history is highly recommended.

Test-drive it until it's fully warmed up, shut off radio / AC / heating etc ... see it it kills the engine at standstill in N.
