Here is proof that you ca well exceed the EPA rating.
You will notice, this was a 70 mile trip, not a short trip for 2 miles to the store in EV mode. This is evidence that diligent driving can do alot for mileage. That being said, this thing has some serious power. It really does move if you feel the urge.
Anyway, this was a long drive of mixed in town and highway driving. I have seen much higher rating than this (I had one at 60.1mpg). But, this is a typical trip if driven carefully. I do drive the speed limit, however, not very slowly like you might imagine.
