Yah I had that idea, even got out the hinges and self tapping screws. But decided against it for a couple reasons. 1. It wouldn't allow me to put the bikes in with the handle bars up for the shorter trips and 2. Because I was lazy haha. The way I did it was the simplest and most effective way to keep people out without buying locks.
