That is correct. To read mpg on an HX (or VX) you need an MPGuino or other gauge that reads fuel injector pulses. See the Instrumentation forum here. It has a MPGuino sub-forum, you can buy one from threads there. My 'guino is usually accurate within .1 gallon.
