yup, started it last year when we purchased our place. First thing I did was put down an extra 6" of insulation (R-19) in the attic. A few weeks ago a insulated the attic access panel. Made it a system that has two layers of insulation to reflect the effective thickness of the rest of the attic.
Furance has a cold air intake, just changed the filter. A timer control on the water heater is a good idea. Or switch to one of those continuous water heaters, but I haven't checked on prices though.
