M&S rating comes only because it's 50% rubber vs void space, nothing about winter or mud traction. Learned that just a few weeks ago and happy to pass it along.

Also recently watched a tire test video where they did wet braking test, 4/32 is unacceptable for anyone in my family but me. It was done by tirerack.com

Get some new winters, burn up your old winters come spring (if willing and able to keep good braking distance) or toss them now. I'd burn them up on the rear 2 at a time realizing when wet than I need extra distance to be safe.
