Alright, lets all calm down.

The truth really is as we've said. Plastic which the OEMs use isn't any different than the plastic you and I can get at a store. Its nothing special except it probably looks a little prettier. Just keep it away from the exhaust and you'll have absolutely no issues. Saying it is dangerous is simply not true.

That being said, ALL modifications have to be done with safety in mind. You shouldn't have anything flying off your car. If you don't know if it is going to stay attached you should redesign it to be sure, and then test it in a safe manner. I'm happy to say this is virtually a non-issue on this board and I can't even think of a time when I read some mod spontaneously failed in any bad way.
