I don't like how much control tech it requires. Half the stuff going on under the hood of my newest car barely makes sense to me now, HCCI seems to be most effective when it's got variable valve timing, variable compression ratio
, knock sensors (of course), variable intake temp and variable EGR.
I mean, is there anything left that isn't under constant adjustment? And none of it is the kind of thing I could fix with just a pair of pliers and a screwdriver by the side of the road if it all goes pear-shaped.
My truck isn't advanced by any means, and I like it that way. I understand it.
