Well it's not an S600/800 (tail is all wrong) but if it's close, I'll guess Datsun. They made a roadster like that, but I don't remember seeing a name on them, it just had "1600" on the trunk.
What is confusing me is the VW license plate frame. It appears to have an inline four up front, so that really rules out VW of that era, especially since it is RHD.
