Just as an additional note, the sharp vertical edge/corner on rear bumpers has become more and more common on "high efficiency" production cars in the last few years. You can now also find them on:
- 3rd generation Prius liftback (prominent)
- Prius "C"
- 2013 Honda Accord Hybrid (very prominent)
- Honda Fit EV (very prominent)
- 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
And probably others I haven't noticed.
