I took the weekend to make a trip up north. The trip was pretty close to ideal with most of it being on 55 mph roads. The tank also had two trips back and forth to work on it. The result was 598.2 miles on 10.13 gallons. That comes out to 59.1 mpg. Pretty darn close to 60. I think thats about the best I'm going to be able to do without further modifications.
The next step will be another un-mod of the vehicle. Its getting a new stainless exhaust. It currently has a 2" mandrel bent performance exhaust on it with pacesetter header. At the moment I'm thinking I'll go completely back to the stock setup with stock exhaust manifold and 1.75" pipe and components. This should improve low end torque which is where my engine now lives. I've gotten most of the components picked out already, but I still want a good stainless resonator and could use a good quiet ss muffler. If anyone has any ideas let me know. The mild steel just gets eaten up by Wisconsin winters and its massive salt use.
