as long as you can fully recline the passenger seat then its fine for sleeping.I could sleep no problem in my mazda glc and im 5 11.However i couldnt in my cherokee because the the front seats were bucket seats that had fixed recline positions.Thats a nice looking car also.It looks like those mid 90s hondas.I really like those as well.

Well, the 60 mpg goal really isn't looking too far off now. My last tank brought me 518.1 miles on 9.17 gallons of gas. That brings me up to 56.5 mpg, only 3.5 from 60.

I took the weekend to make a trip up north. The trip was pretty close to ideal with most of it being on 55 mph roads. The tank also had two trips back and forth to work on it. The result was 598.2 miles on 10.13 gallons. That comes out to 59.1 mpg. Pretty darn close to 60. I think thats about the best I'm going to be able to do without further modifications.

The next step will be another un-mod of the vehicle. Its getting a new stainless exhaust. It currently has a 2" mandrel bent performance exhaust on it with pacesetter header. At the moment I'm thinking I'll go completely back to the stock setup with stock exhaust manifold and 1.75" pipe and components. This should improve low end torque which is where my engine now lives. I've gotten most of the components picked out already, but I still want a good stainless resonator and could use a good quiet ss muffler. If anyone has any ideas let me know. The mild steel just gets eaten up by Wisconsin winters and its massive salt use.

It's good to see another Paseo owner looking to clean up their ride. Mine is a '92 and only gets around 32mpg, but I also have a heavy foot... (working on that)
Anyway, I think I will be following you in your adventures, and if I come across something that works for mine I will let you know, but chances are you have better resources right now than I do

dsq - Getting a bike to fit into the back of a Paseo isn't easy. I couldn't get the trunk to close all the way and had to tie it down. Maybe if you relocated the spare tire, this would give a bit more on the vertical axis for pedals and maybe the handle bars. Removing the front tire would also help (mine isn't quick release, and I didn't want to fuss with it).
I may be removing my back seat and relocating my spare tire in order to start packing my bike around. If I get to this soon, I will post it up with some shots!

I dont expect any vehicle or suv to accomodate a bike without taking off the front wheel. My old cherokee could barely hold a bike whereas as my mazda could easily.

I say you do a 1nzfe/fe-x frankenstein swap!

Take the head off a 1nzfe engine (xA, xB, Echo...) and the block from a Prius 1nzfe-x

A stock Prius has a 13.0:1 comp ratio.

I've heard that it's possible to reach a 13.8:1 comp ratio with the frankenstein swap.

Heck, I'd be fun!

By the way, does the Paseo come with a FE series engine as well? You might be able to match up your shaved head with the higher comp. block.

Who knows?

It would be nice to have VVT. Alas, I don't think it will ever come to be on the Paseo. Add that to the fact that there is a lot of tuning that could be done to optimize the Paseo and its 3000 rpm working window.

Well, yesterday, on the way to work the exhaust broke and I had to leave it on the side of the highway. Luckily, my wife wasn't far behind and got me to work. Unfortunately, your car gets towed by the county sheriff's department if you don't move it within two hours! I did not know this, and now I get to go pick it up tonight for $125. I'm not too happy, especially since I still have to fix it!

So, does anyone have any exhaust component suggestions? It is going to be a 1.75" exhaust and I need a nice quiet muffler and resonator.

Daox,I think Walker manufactures OEM spec exhaust components,as I believe they are a manufacturer for the carmakers. We've used 'em since the 1960s and never an issue with them.
