Deer stories are all too common. Last night, 50 MPH, deer jumped in front, BAM. Hood flew up, can't see underneath it, can't see around it, headlights gone, a few snowflakes in the air. Fortunately enough moonlight through the overcast so I could see the road out the driver's window.
Radiator pushed into the fan, had to be towed. Nearest tow truck was 15 miles away, tow truck drove right past me to pull another driver out of the ditch 1/4 mile down the road. That driver spun the steering wheel after hitting a deer. Her car was still driveable.
Oh, well. No injuries, did not need to be anywhere in a hurry.
I could have used a basjoos bullet nose deer flipper, but then my truck would not fit in the garage.
And, WORST OF ALL, I had a tailwind and the weather report was predicting a tailwind for my Sunday trip back. That would have been the first back to back tailwinds since last summer.
