Another deer story
Deer stories are all too common. Last night, 50 MPH, deer jumped in front, BAM. Hood flew up, can't see underneath it, can't see around it, headlights gone, a few snowflakes in the air. Fortunately enough moonlight through the overcast so I could see the road out the driver's window.
Radiator pushed into the fan, had to be towed. Nearest tow truck was 15 miles away, tow truck drove right past me to pull another driver out of the ditch 1/4 mile down the road. That driver spun the steering wheel after hitting a deer. Her car was still driveable.
Oh, well. No injuries, did not need to be anywhere in a hurry.
I could have used a basjoos bullet nose deer flipper, but then my truck would not fit in the garage.
And, WORST OF ALL, I had a tailwind and the weather report was predicting a tailwind for my Sunday trip back. That would have been the first back to back tailwinds since last summer.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. Are you planning on fixing it, or is it way too early to know what it would cost you?
Either way, glad you're OK.

Bummer.
Echoing the steaks point. Venison sausage? Make hay while the sun shines.

That sure looks like a dangerous spot where you parked, severe slope on both sides!
Glad you are OK, hope the truck can be fixed, might depend on whether the bags went off of not.

Sorry!!! That doesn't look like fun.
I do think you should forget the garage length issue, and build a sleek frontend,
especially since this chance has presented itself!!!

Air bags did not go off. Insurance will cover everything after a $500 deducible.
After seeing how hard the deer hit (dead center at 50 MPH), I figured that most of the meat would not be any good, so did not bother to get some venison.
There's an optical illusion in the photo. I stopped it at the very edge of the shoulder. The shoulder has a slope. The truck only looks level.
The light behind is the county sheriff himself in person. When the entire county has only 15,000 people, even the sheriff goes out sometimes.
Now, if I had been tailgating the vehicle ahead, the deer would have taken out one fender at worst........

Consider the deer tenderized!
Sad to see a good looking and efficient truck in miserable shape. You did good to keep your wits and stay in control. Most people probably would have swerved, hit the deer anyhow, and rolled the truck.
