Not sure about the fuel heating, but I know it works great for diesel setups in the winter..
Once could source an airbox from a late 80's early 90's volvo where it had 2 different ports that one would suck in hot air, the other cold air.
The flapper valve inside the box was vacuum actuated so that if you had to get on it, cold air, cruising, hot air..
I never looked for one, but I've seen how it operates..
