I was going to use one of these as I have a spare one, and they are made to mount onto a shifter already. But seeing as it is designed to be "Off" most of the time and only used for short periods of time, I don't know if that would affect it's reliability if it was used mostly in the "On" position with current going through it. I am thinking a little bit beefier switch might be the way to go instead.
