Wow! I really like how you did that!
Could you have run the wires under the boot?

It's a photo from fitting the knob back in the car. I'm planning to connect all the wires on weekend.

Are you planning on using the other side of that rocker for something else?

Thanks guys. It will be for killing the engine and for starter as well. So I'll be able to kill and start the engine without moving my hand from the shift knob

I was going to use one of these as I have a spare one, and they are made to mount onto a shifter already. But seeing as it is designed to be "Off" most of the time and only used for short periods of time, I don't know if that would affect it's reliability if it was used mostly in the "On" position with current going through it. I am thinking a little bit beefier switch might be the way to go instead.

Engine Off/Start switch on a spitfire.
I added my engine off/start switch to my Spitfire this weekend.
Here are the relays in the engine compartment

And this is my switch. I have since turned it 90 degrees to the left to be between my forefinger and thumb.

The switch is a SPDT Momentary mini switch I got from Frys Electronics.
(ON) OFF (ON)
The relays I got from Amazon as well as the sockets for the relays.

Reason: Added links to relays and sockets and details about the switch
