I know you have hopes that everything under the rear deck is safe from the water damage, but the fact is that it just ain't so. The car didn't splash through a deep puddle; it was immersed in water, probably for many many hours. Electrical stuff might be hermetically sealed but the mechanical stuff is not. That means you have water, silt, and what-have-you in the differential, transmission (if there is one!), CV joints, bearings, brakes (parking/drum in particular), and on and on. The good news is that those bits should respond well to a less rigorous cleaning than the electrical bits.
