Regarding your project note that if you draw temperature reading from the coolant sensor both your arduino and the ecu will measure the temperature wrong cause of the increased resistance, i had the same situation when i'd connected the LPG ECU to the engine's sensor and both measure the temperature wrong about 15 degrees celsius which is a lot. Ecu on some cars including mine control ventilation fan depending on the temperature that ecu read. You can solve this by connecting a pontetiometer parallel to the wires to decrease resistance that your beautiful berta measure. Can't wait to see it up n' ready please hurry !

Berta has a dual temperature sensor. One sensor for ECU and second one for
temp gauge on the instrument cluster. Since you don't need temp gauge to be so acurate you may hook up Arduino to that temp sensor and after calibration you may have a very exact readings. Or you may use OneWire digital thermometer (DS18B20 for example) and have more accurate readings that you may ever need. There are cheap as chips so maybe that's a good option. I'm thinking of using two of those to measure engine coolant temp and outside temp as well.
