27 is amazing for an engine like this that is streetported. I doubt I'll ever come close to that in daily driving.

My goals for my sports car are much more about speed than efficiency, however I came to this forum to learn about and discuss driving techniques and maybe do some small mods for MPG that do not have adverse effects.

I also just like reading about other people's all out MPG projects.

One of the best opportunities for engine off coasting that I have found is when the speed limit slowly decreases over a long distance. I will get up to 65 (10 over) and then coast and shut the engine down for more than a mile as the speed limit goes from 55 to 45 to 35 to 25 until finally coming back alive at around 28 mph (4th gear 1500rpm)

Lately I've been getting 19mpg which I'm blaming on winter, because 21-24 was typical in the summer.

I'm waiting for a good 3cyl 5sp geo metro to pop up on craigslist for less than $1000 so I can have something economical and actually get into eco modding. However, I'm only 19 and I'm still in college so owning, insuring, and maintaining two cars isn't that realisitic right now.
