Something really does need to be done about the nanny state. Last week I was we were told that we could no longer adjust fiber optic amps on a piece of equipment at work with proper PPE (personal protective equipment) because within 18 inches of said amp, is exposed 110 VAC. The fact that you can't do it with the gloves on doesn't matter. The fact that it is nearly immpossible to jam your hand into the area with the killer voltage doesn't matter either.

This kind of nonsense goes on everywhere and costs untold billions of dollars and is yet another reason that companies say screw and pack up and move off shore.
