Anyway, mine has a solonoid and I run the power to that solonoid through the contacts of a relay and use that for shut-off/DFCO engine braking. Works great( so far).
Yeah I have an electronic shut off solenoid (I think!- can you post a pic so I can confirm? still new to diseasals!)

I can recommend a turbo

My AAZ is in need of some fettling before I look at what you're suggesting-

The Glowplugs are rubbish- so if the block got too cold on an extended glide/braking event, I'd be having fun re-starting

The engine Bay could do with more insulation, and I should fit the damn thermostat I have sitting to go in.

Then there are the other considerations:

1. I dont feel comfortable with the idea of EOC/mechanical shutting off of fuel on my commute- the traffic conditions dont really allow for it to be done comfortably, in my opinion..

2. I have, however, considered screwing the idle stop out to drop the hot idle down from 1000rpm- thus lowering my fuel consumption during E(on)C/braking events.

I know its a half way house, but until I'm entirely satisfied with the ability of the car to start/stop on demand, it'll do.

I'm away to scour your thread for further ideas!
