If it's a 78-83 911, do not expect decent MPGs. I think you're doing well in those if you can break 25 MPG, more typically we see 20. (Though that's with my lead-footed wife driving.)

The 84-88 911s get better mileage (more typically in the mid-20s) due to taller gearing and a better fuel management system.
