My neighbor has a +2005 Mustang, so I took a few photos. It appears that half of his chin spoiler pan is missing, and quite a few scrapes under there too.
A chin spoiler here would not deflect air up into the radiator, but would cut down on the air going underneath the car.
Deflection angle restricts how deep one can go.
