I'm not opposed to it personally. The base engine in the US is a 2.0L and it's had a 2.0L since 2005 when they offered the pseudo ST w/ a 2.3L. Three engines is going to be more than enough for the US market. Those three being the base N/A 2.0L, ST with 2.0L ecoboost, and the SFE with the 1.6L ecoboost.

Maybe they will offer the 1.0L as the new base engine in the 2014 Focus? I'm more interested in whether the Focus will get the 6spd manual across the lineup. It's been a long time coming.
