Ford's strategy has been to offer ecoboost on higher trims. I doubt they will change.
BTW, I found some official specs for the 1.0L turbo. No idea on curb weight but if it's less than the current Focus, it'll be fine. Notice that fuel economy is EU. It looks like they only offer manual transmissions, the 6spd gearing looks especially nice. It's a good balance between tall and short.
