Well, I'd have to agree, though some were bigger piles of crap than others. Nostalgia is fine, but any honest & knowledgable person will have to admit that design & manufacturing standards weren't all that great back then. I grew up working on cars from the '60s, and what was accepted as normal for service intervals on everything from oil changes to valve jobs would probably lead to lawsuits today. Seriously, when was the last time you heard of a modern engine needing a valve job?
