Of course, to contradict myself... that's only for those dual-clutches that have replaceable clutch packs, which still cost more than a regular clutch (of course, if you have a manual with a dual mass flywheel, costs will be similar, anyway), and manufacturers are fairly opaque about the issue... if you have a wet-clutch dual-clutch with "lifetime" clutches, some dealers will tell you to replace the whole thing, some will finally grudgingly admit the thing can be repaired.

When the technology matures (from a consumerist standpoint), I expect them to be trouble-free... but right now, there's just too much noise and confusion about the damn things.
