Of course, to contradict myself... that's only for those dual-clutches that have replaceable clutch packs, which still cost more than a regular clutch (of course, if you have a manual with a dual mass flywheel, costs will be similar, anyway), and manufacturers are fairly opaque about the issue... if you have a wet-clutch dual-clutch with "lifetime" clutches, some dealers will tell you to replace the whole thing, some will finally grudgingly admit the thing can be repaired.

When the technology matures (from a consumerist standpoint), I expect them to be trouble-free... but right now, there's just too much noise and confusion about the damn things.

I drove a 2013 Sentra and it seems to not be as rubber-bandy feeling. It also feels like the engine is connected to the wheels in a lot more substantial way than the Versa. It acts a lot like a manual with a clutch up taking off, then the revs just stay the same. Doesn't seem to be as rubber band-y feeling as the 2011
Was it an early Versa or the current Versa sedan? The early US-spec ones had a 4-speed slushbox.

Now the Spark is no longer manufactured, and that footprint-based CAFE regulation might be one of the reasons for it, either the Chevrolet Onix or some random Baojun rebadge are taking over its role as the entry-level Chevrolet in some countries.

Suzuki also got the chance to increase sales of its Indian models in some export markets where the Spark was phased out.
