guess i forgot a few things.... not california, but still.
1626 miles over 3 days, with up to 14 hours of driving each day(542 miles a day), average speed of 38.7MPH.
of course, the "up to" portion is what makes this non-exact, but still shows that they were not only going significantly under the speed limit, but probably at/under the minimum allowable speed on the highway, assuming there was one.
