I tend to agree in a modern engine, i think it offers some benefits in older less evenly fueled vehicles, carb engines generally have a fuel distribution variance that cause some cylinders to run richer, there the tiny bit of oil i believe will cause some relief from wear, also on the more expensive side, there are some synthetic motorcyle two stroke oils i have used that gave significant power increases in my older Japanese street two stroke suzukis. , Golden spectro was one, but at around 19$ per pint a bit pricey
