I've got so many fans, heatsinks, and water cooling supplies laying around... I think I can chomp through a few fans without much issue.
I think, given a quality fan, it should last a very long time.
Reminds me... I remember when the high powered Vantec Tornado fans came out. I accidentally got my pinky in one of them... I'd recommend avoiding that.
