When making a belly pan, heat shielding is important around the exhaust. This we all know. However, in looking at my pan idea/design, I was considering using simple foil tape used by HVAC guys to tape exhaust vent tubing on furnaces.
What are your thoughts on using this to protect Coroplast?

My thought is that foil is designed to reflect ultraviolet light before it can be converted to infrared and that the tape would eventually transfer heat to the plastic.
If you had an actual metal skin attached with standoffs, with a dead-air space in between,it would better shield the plastic.Like a double,or triple-wall stove pipe on a wood stove,or heat-shield under a catalytic converter.
