My car is totally stock. I have not added anything as of yet.
It does, indeed, have coaching. If you pay attention to the coaching aids, that is one major contribution to high MPG. The other thing is that I drive mostly 35mph in town. Also, I drive long distances. The engine does not have time to cool down between trips (I do appliance repair and this is my service vehicle). Those things help. Beyond that, I have just learned how to drive to maximize things. The other day, I drove 156 miles and ended the day at an indicated 60.1mpg........
