I've done it -- my first and only transmission re/re on a fwd car -- and there were no real problems. You may also need a different shifter brace though.

Have you done the math? How long would it take for a ~5% efficiency gain to pay itself off? (Assuming financial savings is your motivation.)

I suppose it makes slightly more sense to do the cam first, since you'll then have more torque to handle the taller gearing. But I don't think it
really matters - I did it "backward" though.

The lower the RPM, the better your cruising MPG. 3.52
