Threads like this reflect badly on the forum.
Seems that there are two (different) points being made here.

1. Newbies
2. This thread/op

making general generic statements about newbies is fine and understood.

But those comments have no bearing on this thread.

Let's break it down.
1. short non-informative question (by an op who has shown a HIGH level of knowledge AND ability in 75 posts....they guy is hypemiling a 4x4 to 30+mpg....not a newbie)
2. a somewhat specific answers from longtime poster
3. Short inquiry into 'how'ed your search go?????'
point being....what have you discovered so far? so we can narrow the answers.

and here is the polite, respectfull reply.. .I know there are threads on this however someone posted that for trucks it doesn't work the same. And instead of telling people to go search for stuff why don't we include links to help them out since some of you know of threads that I don't..

Wow....(to the bold)

Next we will be told that putting a link in is rude.....why dont we type out an answer that is specific to the question.

I make an effert to greet almost every newbie.
I typically post a very short
'welcome and dont forget to put tires at 40+psi'

Now according to op, that is rude and I should provide a link....
what about posters who say 'dont forget the 65 ....' and don't post the link?

(Now I have gone so far as to post links in my sig so that I can instantly send someone to a scangauge link or underbelly link.)
