I am amazed that I could have missed this thread, way back when it was first posted. So I'm glad someone referred to it in another thread today, and I've posted it on the front page for all to see.

There is one other project I know of where someone retrofitted an electromagnetic clutch to a truck to take control of an accessory... but it was to add
on-demand regenerative braking to an EV conversion.
