re: 250, the buyer just picked it up last night, I took it for a ride. It handles great, but wow does it seem slow now.
I've got a wideband o2 sensor on order and have been reading up on carb theory and procedures and jet kits, maybe if I set the main jet 13:1 and the rest to ~15:1 I will get a mostly tame bike until you open it up all the way and see if it is manageable (and what the mpg effect is). There is even a dyno 9 miles away it turns out.
I've a kevlar clutch and spring on order, so I can afford to slip the clutch a bit when higher rpm power band is "needed", and can entertain exhaust and airbox mods as well (not for efficiency). It still needs to be a monster, but maybe low rpm and cruising mpg don't have to suffer.
