The motor can be run at higher voltages. I was looking at using a ME1003 for another project and emailed the motenergy. The reply said I could go up to 96V. This brings your unloaded rpms up around 5000 and loaded rpms just under 4500 rpm (reference the ME0709 charts, there is a 96V graph I believe) which I think is probably the limiting factor. I would imagine you could probably bring the voltage up higher if you had some way of limiting max rpms to avoid damaging the motor.

That's all good to know. Thanks! I didn't know beforehand that the 1003 could do 96V. I just saw the 0913 could do 96v and could potentially go higher and I was sold on that.
