Doesn't increasing the power of the engine increases consumption, the load of the engine being lower?
With your data, I calculated that your engine has 29% efficiency (289,9 g/kWh) during your record. To make 2 l/100 km at 100 km/h you need 34,66% efficiency.
On a stock Lupo, the best efficiency at stabilized speed and on the flat is achieved in 5th gear at 150 km/h. At that speed, the car burns 5,52 l/100 km (SSP_218) which makes 33,56% efficiency (250,5 g/kWh). And the engine turns at 3158 rpm which means that better efficiency can be achieved at lower rpm (1500-1750?) and equal load which means... custom bigger gearing (like 60 km/h at 1000 rpm or even more). What is your engine load at 100 km/h?
