Hi Ahmed,

I can understand the difficulty in finding the supplies. I wonder if it wouldn't also be quite difficult to bring a completed electric car to Egypt? Even if you find one for sale in France (for example), would it be possible to bring it into Egypt without difficulty?

Most of the (well built) electric cars that I have seen for sale are in the range of US$8000 to $10,000. I think that may make it more attractive to build your own.

For getting the components, could it be possible that many of them are already available within Egypt? I'm not familiar with the number of electric utility vehicles (such as forklifts & carts & such) used by the ports there in Alexandria, but it may be worth checking out.

I do understand that building the EV is a last resort for you and I certainly understand that simply buying a ready-to-drive electric car would be preferable. However, I believe it will also be quite difficult to find one that is ready-to-drive at the "really low price" you mention. I would expect that it would be even more difficult to find than the components for building one.

If you do decide to go ahead with your own build, I know that this ecomodder community will be more than helpful in guiding your progress.
