yeah, those bats wont work.

An update on what's going on, I was given the green light to return the motor to the company with a 10% restocking fee and I can switch it out for the ME1003. I still come out ahead $$$$$ but I think it's a good choice to switch motors instead of switching controllers or wiring up a converter.
