I used to reduce image file size for posting here but I find I don't need to any more.
Just post images to photo bucket.com or to your preferred cloud site. Paste your image's address into the dialog box you get from this site's "picture" tool. Larger images are shown in reduced size, with a bar users can click to view full size if wanted.
