If your cooling fan is running all the time then it is killing your mpg. I learned that lesson putting a 160degree thermostat in the trans am. Mileage dropped by almost 30%.

Wire the fan back in factory and put in a toggle switch that'll send power to the fans if it ever gets to running hot. The hf and vx's have an oil cooler/warmer on the back of the block at the oil filter to regulate engine temps. Ran one on my last d16a6 dpfi DX crx and it works very well. I change my oil when it turns from golden brown. After that swap I went from 3500-4500mi to around 7000mi per change. Not to mention it was an automatic car with oversize tires and I could stoll manage 40mpg hwy with regular driving and speeds.

Youre doing work though. Keep it up for sure!
