75.2mpg for 2 gallons over 155 miles. I've decided to start filling up to only 3.5 gallons max to save on weight.

Hypermiling is probably the best survival tool you can have. If you can learn to average 65mpg in most any manual car you can save more than money. Imagine being stranded with half a gallon of gas in the middle of the dessert. You could try to survive on cactus, or P&G at 20mph to civilization. I'm surprised most survivalists haven't picked up on this. There solution seems to be to stockpile a couple dozen barrels of oil.
