Thanks Elhigh, I've accepted its a big heavy chunk of steel & glass & I'm REALLY wishing there was some way to turn it into a 50mpg car - but I know there isn't - yet....(so many of the new cars out there have great MPG without even hypermiling!)

I will definately have a look for BigDave, Diesel Dave & Aerohead's tricks & methods to get the best mpg I can out of this truck (in a still useable form). he thing is still brand new & I cannot make any changes that might void my warranty, there has still got to be things I can do to make it 'better'.

I would love to get one of those truck caps that one member makes - but seems a LONG way to travel to pick one up as I am North of Montana.

But it's a good start so far.

An F-150 is a big ol' barn door flying down the road. There are lots of things you can do to help its aero profile. Go read up on Big Dave and Diesel Dave, and then climb the mountain to consult the aero guru that is Aerohead. Unless I'm mistaken, Aerohead is a genuine aeronautics engineer, so he knows his stuff.
