x guage

I realize this info may not be useful because our cars are very different. I have an x gauge programmed for transmission temp, thanks to one of the programmers of the scan gauge. What I noticed was that the temp of the transmission, would decrease a little from neutral coasting. I would take this a positive sign of decreased friction and therefore decreased heat.

I have almost 30,000 miles on my Elantra with a lot of neutral coasting! No problems to report. I will know more when I go to have the transmission serviced at 60,000 miles. That the recommended service interval for heavy duty use.
