How free is a country where or when you can't think / act out of the box anymore for fear the sharks / lawyers will come after you, based on assumed "safe" operating parameters ... that actually have no real base themselves.

Recently I read - somewhere else - that the US is no longer pushing the technological (aviation) boundaries, like it did in the 50s or 60s.

But how can you possibly push any boundaries, with liability lawyers loitering overhead, waiting to exploit any unintended crack near any of those boundaries ?
