Hell, the Foton is an impressive pick-up consideirng its price range. For much less than the "Japanese" and "American" pickups (which are all made in Thailand), you get a fully-loaded 4x4 with that Cummins motor, Bosch injection, a Getrag box, Borg-Warner transfer case and Dana differentials. iol;
It actually drives nicely, too. Thrashed two of these suckers on the racetrack a few months back and was suitably impressed. Brakes had less fade than most, and the steering assist was suitably oversized for hard work. The hydraulic pump in the Triton overheats and cavitates if you give it too many steering inputs too fast, and the electric assist in the newer trucks isn't any better in this regard.
Maybe their interiors still need work, and maybe they should include a Lotus suspension with the rest of the third-party stuff on the truck, but Foton went overboard to make sure this truck would take the heat, and it shows.
